Blowfish Blue + BK 902

Hi everyone! its 17:48 here right now, and i didnt have much time to think and did nail art. I had good time with aunty and mum today. But i still did nail polish today. So this time, i used blowfish blue and mixed it with BK902.

Snowman!

Hello guys! i had long day yesterday and really needed long relaxing time as mind and body. Today i back to create a nail art :).  Still in christmas theme, so i made snowman nail art. I done both of my hands but the right hand isnt as good as the left hand. and it took me hours to finish because i was really slow doing my right hand. And actually i hate it, its so pain to painting by left hand .

So for this nail art, i started with base coat from Pixy, 3 coats of Blowfish Blue from LA Splash, white polish for snowman, black polish for eyes and hat , red for shawl and BL601 from The Faceshop for the snow.

Merry Christmas!

Claire's Mood Changing Polish Flirty/Shy

Claire's makes the best mood changing polishes hands down. They are awesome, especially on longer nails because it's basically a quick way to get the look of a french manicure with zero effort. Zero effort is always a good thing my friends.

This is my new favorite of the Claire's mood polishes. It's such a gorgeous deep cobalt blue when applied then as it dries the "mood" effect kicks in and the area over your nail bed changes to a very pretty and vibrant medium blue.
These DO dry matte. (as shown) but a quick application of a shiny topcoat will fix that and it won't ruin the color change effect.

Here is a link to some of the other mood polishes I've swatched.

Out of all the mood polishes by Claire's this one, Flirty/Shy applied the best. It did take 3 coats but it wasn't as thick and gloppy as the rest were. There is a down side to these polishes however. You have to step foot inside CLAIRE'S to purchase them. Unless you are 11 years old being inside Claire's is NOT pleasant people. NOT PLEASANT.

NOTD

I have this new obssesion with wearing polish only on the tips of my nails ever since I FINALLY got my stains out.  I have been wearing nothing but naked nails and colored tips for like a week and a half now.  I absolutely love how it looks for some reason.  I also love applying seche vite over my bare nails. For some odd reason it makes me feel cool.

Today I decided to wear a glitter over my naked nails before painting the tips and I think it looks pretty neat.
This is my beloved Orly Royal Navy and a base coat of China Glaze fairy dust. Before Royal navy came out there was only ONE blue that could come this close to my heart and that was Nfu-oh 557, Royal navy and 557 have the same exact base color except the nfu-oh is a jelly and lacks the AWESOME turquoise shimmer. The Nfu-oh is still my favorite polish of all time though.  Please excuse my STAINED ring finger. If you would like to know it was China Glaze paper chasing that stained my nail like that.  I had it on for about an hour while I was comparing greens... Oh yeah, that is my seche vite in that extreme wear bottle. I always keep it in that type of bottle because I love the brush, you should try it.

It feels so odd to have any part of my nail exposed because I'm so used to hiding my stains. Wearing them naked is so addicting!   I can't get myself to paint my whole nail anymore now that I have gone naked and felt the breeze on mah fingas! FYI My favorite so far has been black tips.  If you are wondering how I got my stains out I tried everything man! Finally the solution was 10 denture whitening tablets in about 1/2 cup of warm water and soaking my nails in it for over an hour.

Review: Sally Hansen Color Quick Pens

*sigh*

I normally wouldn't even try a polish pen like this. Mostly because they are all expensive, with FAIL damn near written on the box. But yesterday, I spotted one lone Sally Hansen brand color pen at my neighborhood Dollar Tree so I HAD to give it a try.
I got the blue one, number 07.  It had a pretty cobalt blue box and a picture of a perfect nail with COBALT blue polish being applied to it so I was pretty excited.  You guys know how I obsess over dark blues...
This is what it looks like when you open it up.  Pretty funky huh.  When I saw and felt the brush I literally said out loud,  "OMG FAIL".  Surprisingly it doesn't suck quite as bad as it looks like it would.  Anyway I am showing this picture because I always wondered what they looked like opened up.
Here it is at 3 coats. Its SUPER sheer dude. Don't you love how this is a Caribbean island blue green shimmer polish?  Check out how FAR off it is from the swatch on the pen itself...Ok maybe it's not THAT far but it is NOT the same color and it is NOT the cobalt blue I ordered!
Here it is next to the box...(sorry about the flash) Seriously could they not just put the correct polish color in the pen? How hard must that be? PRETTY FREAKIN HARD APPARENTLY.

As far as application goes it wasn't a total nightmare like I had anticipated.  Granted, it was pretty difficult to get the hang of it and of course I didn't read the directions and clicked the pen about 15 times trying to get the polish to come out and ended up with it all over myself and my desk.

The box says "Manicure in minutes! Just click to dispense color, brush on and go!"  For the most part this is true. Once you have painted your nails with it and removed it several times like I did, you really get the hang of it!  I can see how these pens could come in handy as long as you don't care what color you are actually buying. The dry time was really fast so that's a plus and the whole idea is pretty cool, so by no means is this a down right negative review.  Basically for a regular girl that isn't a freaky polish obsessed person, blue is blue and this pen works just fine.

Aqua Baby

Every time I see this polish it reminds me of this one time my step chitlins were dragging me around a gigantic, upscale and crowded mall desperately looking for the perfect items that would make them too cool for school.  Along the treterous journey we passed a kiosk that encircled an infant getting it's ears pierced.

Of course you could barely tell what the mound of red flesh and clothing WAS, because the child's face was so contorted with agony and confusion it was nearly impossible to tell what this woman in the kiosk was holding. Unless of course you walked up and got uncomfortably close to the action.  This little bunda was merely weeks old as anyone could tell. The proof was in the size of the GATHERING of onlookers that had formed around the event.  A glorious heard of horrified people stood and stared, mouths agape, as the young mother clasped the arm of a jewelry clad toddler with one claw, still managing to hold the squirming, SCREAMING infant getting pierced with the other.  I myself was a few yards away holding on to one of those huge ceramic pots they use as trash cans to be more presentable,  bent over at the waist exploding in waves of uncontrollable laughter.

Anyway the reason this polish reminds me of that scene which I of course will remind you I found totally hilarious, was that I have never seen so much liquid come of out a child in my life. Hence, Aqua Baby by China Glaze.
Look I just could not help but to laugh.  It was the onlookers that did it, with their higher than mighty stances and upset faces.  Their stupid fanny packs paired with straw hats and sunglasses on the top.  I had to laugh or I would have combusted under the weight of the rediculousness ok. I dont really give a crap about the baby, yeah its sad and all, but not as sad as a mob of morons taking the time out of their petty little routines to get pissed off at a total stranger.

P.S.- Look, the baby's freakin ears were gonna hurt for like 15 mins at the most so back off. GEEZE.

I'm back online home dawgs!!!

Hello. I have not had internet since April 28th 2010 and I am lucky to still be alive.  Seriously have you ever been without internet for that long?  SERIOUSLY?   Do you realize how long that is in "interwebz time"?  It's like 5 years ok.

The first week or so I tried to be cool about it and act all one with nature and, "I'm living the simple life" hanging my clothes out to dry and not shaving my legs, THEN, I became so desperate for a connection to my beloved laptop I started to play those dumb ass games in the accessories tab just so I could spend time on the computer.  Go ahead punk, challenge me to a game of minesweeper, I freaking dare you.  I am a P.R.O.

A quick side note here- Dear poor pathetic winner of my Boston Terrier Rescue giveaway. Your polish was mailed yesterday and please tell me how you would like to receive your $25 bones. I am so incredibly sorry it has taken so long to get you the goods!

Anyhoo here are a few swatches of the china glaze poolside collection, NOT.  What I mean is, here are the two polishes from the poolside collection that I bought, slathered in glitter because they are stupid on their own.
Towel boy toy is the base for this one. It applies ok but I am SICK of neons and this is a 3+ coater worn alone. BLECH.
Meh.  This is Kiwi coolada under sour apple. It looks like crap alone and takes a lot of coats but this combo was kinda cool. I actually wore it for over 24 hours which is almost a record.
Here is Electric Lilac over the purple polish from the poolside collection...oh WAIT they didn't freaking MAKE a purple they just made three more identical bright pinks instead. The base for this, since I was unable to acquire a new purple, was spontaneous.

It's great to be back dudes.

Look what I got!

 *dies*

I'm going to rock the hell out of these by pairing them with these horribly delightful, giant 80's hoops.
THEN, I'm going to slap this on my nails, creating an explosion of 80's fierceness not witnessed since before I was born.
Here is a group shot of  'Team Gorgeous'.  I cannot wait to drench myself in this glorious grouping of blue and clickity clack away into the sunset.

Zoya Sparkles my way.

This is my favorite new collection of the season.  Absolutely gorgeous, unique and with perfect timing.  I was about to stab myself in the throat if ONE more pastel creme collection came out people. These are all solid 3 coaters and apply quite well.  They can be runny if you try to do thicker coats but they do dry fast.
I only bought three of the sparkle collection, quite frankly because I have ENOUGH boring pink Zoyas and they just didn't look all that awesome.  So, I snagged the purple, blue and green as seen above. Then instead of the rest of the sparkle collection I got my pink fix by buying Astra, Nova, and Roxy.  I sort of wish I had gotten the red from the sparkle collection but oh well, I'm sure I'll find an excuse to order again at some point.  These are all 3 coats as well.
I think these 6 are the prettiest Zoyas I have ever seen!

New Misas! Mardi Gras!

I only got three of the new Mardi Gras collection and I kinda wish I had gotten more.  The formula was the classic, awesome Misa formula but the colors I got were a little weird. Well not weird, but definitely different than I had hoped.
For example, to me, this isn't purple people!  Maybe they want us to throw them something purple because this polish is clearly BLUE?
This one is nice but I wish it was a tad less blue and pastel looking.
This was my favorite one out of the 3 I got. Sooooo pretty!

New Misas! Black Out "Collection"

Thanks Misa! We really, REALLY needed some new polish from you! DESPERATELY needed! This Black out collection is pretty good but I don't see how it's a collection being only 2 polishes since nobody is going to buy their black creme AGAIN. But hey, the 2 colors are Blue and Purple CREMES!!! Now THAT is my kind of half assed "collection"!
This is 2 coats. It is gorgeous. I love it, what a shocker! This applied awesome but dried to a satin type of finish, nothing a top coat can't fix.
This one was a bit more watery but still a two coater and not too difficult to apply. Love this one too!!!

I didn't buy the black one, ok. Sorry Charlie. But if you are DYING to see another plain black creme, here ya go!

WNW black creme. 1 coat, dries fast and .99 cents at walgreens.

Leftovers

I have ended up with some mismatched swatches that don't really go with anything else or can't really be made into a single posts. Either because I forgot to post them or forgot the reason I swatched them. Well they could but I don't feel like doing it. So, I'm just going to cram them all right here and call it a day.  Plus, now I have shorties and I need to get these long nailed photos cleared out because I can't just go around posting all sorts of nail lengths jammed together like it's no big deal, and be all "la te da" about it. Because as we all know I am an organized person and I hold all my nail related matters to the utmost of ridiculously OCD standards.

This was 2 coats and also my 100th China glaze! Application on this was good, not streaky or gloppy.
Also 2 coats and good application. I wish this was more GREEN and not so pastel, cutesy, and stupid.
Guess how many coats this was dudes? FIVE. I got this in a swap so I really am hoping it was thinned before I received it because that is LAUGHABLE. Pretty polish though.
This is so freakin awesome. I love this polish, but all I can do when I look at this photo is sit here and grimace, cussing out my nails because they are not growing out fast enough.  I miss my long nails SO MUCH.  Oh yeah this was 3 coats, no problems.

Matte te tat tat

I absolutely love the Orly matte polishes! Matte vinyl is my favorite, but the two polishes below are no exception to my lurve.

The formula on these is great. They aren't runny or gloppy unless you take too long to apply them because they dry FAST.   If you twiddle your thumbs while playing tic tac toe as you paint, thus taking forever to apply them, then YEAH they will get all streaky and gross. They are otherwise perfection. These swatches are both 2 coats which is typical for them to even out.

Stroll.

What a dream this polish is, I adore it. It went on so smooth and is a 2 coater. In case nobody has told you yet, YOU NEED THIS.
My new favorite pink polish, also a 2 coater and great application. Heads up light skin ladies that look freakishly red skinned when they wear light colors and pastels, this is the pink for you!
Zaaaang! A stunning blue based green shimmer. LOVE! 2 coats
This was a 3 coater and I dont love it. But I haven't seen a lot of swatches of it, so here it is!
OH! The glass flecky goodness, the unique awesomeness! Its the morning sky living on my nails! This was 3 smooth coats.
This is a jelly based hot pink shimmer with a fuchsia flash. It takes a lot of coats but I think it's worth it.

IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME.

Here are some pics of my current mani that I am head over heels in love with. I am like a cheerleader on prom night, waiting for my date to arrive, butterflies in my stomach, in love with this.
Who cares that I didn't go to prom because I was WAY too hardcore, loathed cheerleaders and have no idea what it was like to wait for your prom date?  I can imagine OK.
It was probably really stupid, and no where even close to what I am going for in order to describe my feelings about this manicure.  No, I'm sure it was way too stupid to be an accurate metaphor for my love of this polish.  So, just ignore that prom crap and I'll go with Christmas morning.

2 coats Nfu-oh 568, 1 coat 52 and seche TC.
