New York Summer Pt 7

 Part 6

Thank freakin god this is FINALLY the last installment of these polishes.  You guys have no idea how sick I am of swatching them.  Do you like how I said that I'm all done despite the fact that I still have all the glitters to swatch? I am mentally unable to face the fact that I still have 10+ NYS glitters to slather all over my hands. It's depressing.  I want to swatch stuff that I love, but I set out to swatch the whole stupid collection of NYS polish so I am going to do it. I just want to pretend that I'm finished at the moment, dammit.

Sorry about the hiatus in posting dudes.  Things have been non awesome on my side of the looney bin, but I won't bore you with details.  I know everyone has there own crap to deal with and reading all about my crazies isn't at the top of anyone's "to do" list.  Instead I shall slap on my happy face and get this freak show on the road.

So, who's ready to be disappointed?  This is the most boring and stupid set of NYS polish yet people. It seems I saved all the identical pink shimmers for last. Hurray!  These are all 3 coats.

New York Summer Pt 6

So far the formula on NYS polish has held about 95% consistent.  The jelly neons and cremes apply great with no drag. The shimmers and frosts are sheer and require 4+ coats. Mostly everything with "hot" in the name isn't a lie, and they dry in a reasonable amount of time. Sheer or not, these polishes can handle 6-7 coats without dragging at the cuticle or tip and that my friends is an insane feat to accomplish!  Not that anyone is going to sit and apply six coats to discover it, other than me of course. You're welcome.
Here is the first exception to the rule.  This being SIX coats is NOT HOT people. Not hot. And where is the turquoise and for that matter where the hell is the BLUE?  Six coats is hilarious to me.
I guess don't hate it. This was 3 coats. It's just kinda ok. Deffinately not hot. It applied great though. I'm lying, I totally HATE this.
This was my biggest disapointment out of the entire NYS collection.  Why?  This is NOT purple and certainly not a HOT purple.  This is a mauvey, ugly MAGENTA with some type of brownish undertone.  Totally not hot. This was 3 coats BTW.
Totally accurate name. I want to say this was 4-5 coats. LOL.
Highlighter yellow neon jelly. Wow! This is 3 thin coats and it dried FAST. Now this one is worth buying if you need a good neon yellow. No drag and good coverage! Bonus- no red fingers!

New York Summer Pt 5

This was 3 coats, smooth application. No problems.
Also 3 coats. This is BLINDING.
This one is still sheer at 3 coats which is a shame because it is an awesome neon red.
This one was a goopy MESS! Omg it was a pain to apply. This was 4 coats.
Once again 3 coats. This one applied great despite the streaks and dried lightning fast.

New York Summer Pt 3

This set of NYS polish followed suit perfectly with all the others I have swatched.  No cuticle drag on the  neon jellies, smooth application overall and good drying time. So instead of regurgitating everything I've said in part one and two, let's get this polish parade on the road! Speaking of parades, why are they always so stupid anyway?  I always spend my time trying to mentally will the stilts dude to fall. I mostly do this to try to take my attention off how overly aggravated I am at whoever is forcing me to watch the parade, because there is no way I would be willingly watching a PARADE. But I'll just spoil the fun for you and take away all the suspense. The stilts dude doesn't fall. HE NEVER FALLS!
This polish is pretty but what a major disappointment! From the color dots it was represented as a teal/grayish blue jelly or cream.  A really AWESOME looking polish.  But oh well, it's just another stank ass light blue shimmer with green flash.  This was 3 coats.
Wowza.  This one is super pigmented. It could have been a one coat wonder which is the first time I have seen that from NYS, but I did 2 coats anyway.  This is really dupey to China Glaze Cowgirl Up.  It's a tad darker though with MUCH more gold flash.
OH! You startled me! I almost didn't SEE you there. This is a freakin NEON purple people. WOAH. It was way too bright to capture, but I did get a good representation of the color.  This was 2, flowing, non cuticle dragging, coats.
I would LOVE this if it were a tad less orange but it's still really cool.  A neon red jelly? Come on! This was a 3 coater with great application just like ALL the rest of the NYS polishes I have swatched so far. Awesome.

New York Summer Pt 2

First things first lets get this duplicate polish out of the way.
This blue is breathtaking.  This is 3 coats and it applied like a dream.  Seriously it applied so well it was hard to believe.  I am so incredibly happy that the no cuticle drag trend with NYS polish is continuing!  This dried in a "normal" amount of time for cheap polish but it needs a shiny topcoat anyway since it's a neon, so just use a dry fast TC and you're golden.

This polish is a DEAD ON dupe for Misa Pour me something tall and strong.
Here is the beautiful twin.  Can you tell a difference?  The Misa is only on my ring finger. The NYS Hot Sky Blue polish is $1.59 at transdesign.
This is a crazy hybrid jelly, glass fleck glitter, shimmer in a very pretty berry pink.  The shimmer flashes to a light purple, fuchsia. 3 coats.
HELLO!!!  This is so bright. SO. BRIGHT.  This opacity took me 4 coats and still no drag and no runs.
This is another glass fleck, jelly, shimmer concoction.  I think it's really nice.  This took 3 coats.
Hot pink jelly.  This was 3 coats.  This one is not really my thing but the formula was great!  It is also a neon so topcoat it.

Overall the formula and application have been spot on for all the NYS polishes I've swatched so far.  See part one for more details.

New York Summer Pt 1

New York Summer has a lot of freakin awesome polish.  Most of their jellies are actually neons, which dry matte, but a clear topcoat fixes that right up.  I haven't had problems with application or cuticle drag yet despite the fact that many of the jellies require 3 coats, sometimes more.  They dry as fast as any normal drug store brand but with the added benefits of having lots of great colors and being only $1.59 at Transdesign.com
This took 4 coats to be this opaque.  While it applied well, I see no purple and definitely no star.
Gorgeous Tiffany blue jelly.  This will dry matte as it's a "neon" unless you topcoat it.  It is a near dupe to China Glaze For Audrey except in jelly form.  This takes 2 thick coats, or 3 thin ones. I had no application issues whatsoever.
Here is a comparrison of it with China Glaze For Audrey on my ring finger.
This was 3 coats. No cuticle drag! This seems to be a great trend with these jelly neons!  Normally I have a horrible time with it on any jelly.
I tried my best to get an opaque swatch of this but it took something like 7-8 coats to get it this opaque!  I think it's safe to say based on the few I've swatched that the NYS glitters are meant to strictly be topcoats.  The upside is that the glitter was smooth and not very grainy at all once dry.
