While were waiting...

While we all desperately wait for the new Orly plastix and Cosmix and China Glaze Vintage Vixen collections to come out let's take a look at some awesome older polishes that you can buy right now to give some direction back to that hole in your pocket.  We must not overlook the fact that a steady stream of polish must be available to buy at all times, otherwise the steady stream of cash that buys the polish might stop.  I mean I don't know about you but if I can't track at least one package everyday I start to panic.  If I don't keep up the constant stream of polishes I "have to have" my fiance might make a major mistake and think I don't need anymore money for polish.

So, here is Color Club's Wild at Heart Collection.  I love this set and it's a cheap thrill while we wait.  Next I'll do the Color Club Dance to the Music collection. You can buy these sets at VNS for about $14 plus shipping.
please excuse the quality of this photo.  This polish is actually a flesh toned holo and it's gorgeous in 2 coats.  I had a major catastrophe while attempting to capture this polish on film so I have a good excuse for it being craptastic.  You see, I was looking for a sunspot in which to photograph when I innocently peered downwards. Mere feet from my exposed toes I spotted a LOCUST the size of a freakin' bologna and cheese sandwich.  During my sprint across the porch my eyes stayed locked on it's prehistoric plastic-like body.  It was EATING.  It's front legs were making jolting and eratic movements as it maneuvered a leaf in its mini wood chipper mouth.  It had baby arms like a mini T-Rex people. BABY ARMS.  Mini, plasticy, sticky, grabby, giant locust arms were coming to GET ME as I ran to the door and of course I made it safely inside.  Actually the locust didn't even move except for the nasty arm thing with the leaf.  And maybe it wasn't the size of a sandwich, but it was at least the size of a soft taco supreme. At the very LEAST.
This is a multi-toned fine glitter in a clear base that flashes from gold to amber to yellow. It's almost metallic at some angles.  It's brutal awesome layered! This is 3 coats.
Gunmetal grey shimmer. This one is brush strokey but still cool and I still wear it. 2 coats but as you can see it needed 3.
Gorgeous blue based green shimmer.  I LOVE this color.  It is so smooth going on and man is it eye catching! This is 2 coats.
Dark purple holo, nuff said. 2 coats.
This is a black jelly with fine gold glitter.  It is gorgeous when the sun hits it.  It's a lot like China Glaze's wagon trail but the glitter is much larger in this one.  3 coater.

Crunch Time

I hacked my nails off last night so let's get the first pic out of the way so we can get passed this awkward silence ok. GEEZE.
So, whatcha thank?  It's ridiculously liberating!

The reason that photo is so crappy is because I'm at my moms and I don't have my normal junk I use to take pics.  Anyway, I'm supposed to be showering and getting ready to go trade my car in.  I am instead sitting here procrastinating because I cannot decide which freaking truck I want.

I want both smushed into one.  I'm TRYING to decide between a 97 red Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 with black leather interior, and a 95 black Toyota 4runner Sr5 v6, with grey cloth interior and less miles. I want the jeep, but everything inside my organs and stuff is telling me to get the 4runner.  I think I'm going to ask the dealer which one I should get then buy the other one.

I am seriously supposed to be there in 30 mins and all I'm prepared to say is, "here is my trade in..." beyond that I am totally going to fly by the seat of my pants and wing it.  Let's hope I make the right decision!

Awwww.

Valentines day came early for me guys!  I guess having a blog is going to benefit me in many ways.  He must have read my Valentines Day Post.   Muhahahahaha!
Here is the front of my card.  I had to show it off because of the whole sexy nails thing.  Despite my best efforts I could not edit out the unfortunate nicknames you see displayed above. So, I guess I'm just going to have to level with you here.  Look, I had a moderate gas problem at one point during our relationship ok?  It was not severe, just moderate.  I have since been dubbed "pooter" and I cannot shake it for the life of me.  The whole "rootin" thing has to do with my snoring. Yeah, I admit it.  I am a pooter that snores, ok?  Just deal with it and let's move on.

Guess what was inside the card my dear friends.  COLD HARD CASH.  It might as well have been a box-o-polish right?  Amirite or Amirite?  I'll leave you to deal with your jealousy over my super awesome gift with a pic of my nail of the day.  Zoya Indigo.
Yeah.  My bottle showed up with no label.  Weird.  I did contact customer service about it.  I will just give you a quick tip about Zoya customer service.  If you are thinking of calling them, don't.  Instead rip up a 20 dollar bill and then punch yourself in the face.  It's really a lot more painless and there is no waiting.

Old School.

Well I couldn't stop feeling guilty/retarded about my long winded groundhog rant. It's just that I have problems ignoring things that are stupid.  I also have problems controlling myself when it comes to my take on things.  I tend to go a little overboard.  So I decided to try to redeem myself with some old school Sally Hansen swatches.

So, I'm sorry about the whole groundhog thing. I hope we can still be friends.
Very feminine light mauve shimmer. This is 4 coats!
Peachy pink with gold shimmer. This was 3 coats.
Really weird green to purpley brown duochrome. This looks like a light blue transparent jelly on the first coat. So odd. This was like 5 coats or something insane like that.
2 coats.
This was 4 coats! I like this though.
Gorgeous purple with gold shimmer. 2 coats.
Medium blue-grey creme. Love it. This was also like 5 freakin coats!
Very light grey, almost off white creme with subtle gold shimmer. Only 2 coats but geez this was streaky!
Once again my camera has screwed up the blue in this photo. The color is right it's just about 3 shades darker than this. 2 coats. Awesome!
Another super weird one. This is a brown frost with red and green shimmer. At 4 coats it still looked nothing like the bottle color.

Mostly Meh, Sometimes Marvelous.

I am so addicted to shopping drug stores and department stores for polish sales.  I almost always order my polish online, so I'm used to waiting for things in the mail.  This was the only way I ever used to acquire polish.  So, shopping in person for polish and actually getting my hands on it right then became an instant addiction.  I usually regret it right away because sales always outweigh whether or not I actually want something.  Not to mention the "deals" always add up to an amount of money that could have purchased the polishes I REALLY wanted online.  Keep in mind this obsession only started about 2 months ago when Walgreens ran it's first BOGO on Sinful Colors.  Before that I had never purchased nail polish in person EVER.  Not once.

To top it off there are always rushes on certain drugstore brands of polish once online swatches start to circulate.  When I see one of these "desirable" polishes I ALWAYS buy it.  Whether I personally like it is not even a factor.  A prime example is Sally Hansen Opulent Cloud.  I finally spotted it and bought it without thinking.  I never even opened it because I knew I would end up swapping it since I don't even like the stupid polish in the first place.  Alas, I broke down and swatched it anyway today just to see what all the fuss is about.  My original opinion still stands on this one, "meh".
This was 2 coats.

Then there are stores like Ross.  At this store you will find packs of several polishes for the price that just one bottle in the pack would sell for at a drug store.  I CANNOT resist them.  10 mixed Sally Hansens for $4.99?  A pack of 5 old school Rimmels for 2.99?  Give me a break!   I am helpless against the powers of low prices.  So, I end up with piles of pinks and sheers I wont ever wear.  At least they were dirt cheap right?  These next two are a crazy amount of coats, like 5?   I'll try to keep the suck to a minimum.
I actually don't hate this one.  It's ok.  2 coats.

Then there are the "sleepers". The polishes I grab because they are on sale that I end up LOVING. They really make all the duds and mindless spending worth it to me.
Rimmel Camoflauge. Gorgeous green shimmer. 2 coats $1.09 at Walgreens!
Deliciously Dark. Super dark purple creme. Awesome! Also, $1.09 at Walgreens.
This is one of the only darker nude shades I like. I love it actually. It flows on smooth like a 20 dollar polish, is opaque in one coat, dries fast and here's the freakin KICKER folks- this polish came in a 2 pack for ONE dollar at a Family Dollar.
Here is the other half of the dollar pack duo.  This also flows like buttah, and dries fast.  It's in my top 3 reds. Yep, 50 cent playa!
My new favorite dark blue shimmer.  It's a rich midnight blue with lots of shimmer that shines TEAL! This is 2 thin coats.  Surprise! This is 99 cents a bottle!
